Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains what data Shario (shario.live) collects, why, and what you can demand about it. The honest summary: we collect very little, and nothing you broadcast is ever recorded.
1. What we do not collect
Starting here because it is the part that matters most in a screen-sharing service:
- we do not record, store or analyse the video or audio of broadcasts
- we do not ask for your email — the Discord sign-in uses only the minimum identity scope
- we use no advertising trackers, social pixels or profiling
- we do not sell or share data with advertisers
2. Data we collect
Only what the service needs to work:
- From Discord, when you sign in: your identifier, display name and profile picture. Nothing beyond that, and only when you choose to sign in
- About rooms you create: room name, link, whether there is a password (stored as a hash, never as text) and whether sign-in is required
- When you join as a guest: the nickname you type
- IP address, temporarily, to limit password attempts and protect against abuse
- Technical data required for the video connection to work, handled by the media server in real time
3. For how long
Rooms exist only in memory and are discarded after 12 hours without use, or when the server restarts. There is no room database and no history.
The authentication cookie lasts until you sign out or it expires. The language cookie lasts a year and holds only the language code you chose.
IP records used for rate limiting are kept for minutes, not days.
4. Cookies
We use two, both essential:
- authentication session — keeps you signed in; without it you cannot create rooms
- language preference — remembers whether you chose Portuguese or English
5. Third parties
- Discord — for authentication only. See their privacy policy to understand what they process on their side
- Hosting provider — processes the traffic needed for the service to work
- Fantip — donations platform. If you choose to donate you leave our site and their policy applies. We never receive your payment details
6. Who can see your broadcast
Whoever is in the room. Access is controlled by the link, by the password (if you set one) and by the optional Discord sign-in requirement.
If you share a link without a password, anyone who receives it can join. Treat the link as a credential.
Because media passes through our server rather than peer to peer, other participants have no access to your IP address.
7. Your rights
Under Brazil's LGPD, and under the GDPR if you are in the European Union, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, portability, anonymisation and deletion of your data, and withdraw consent.
Write to contact@shario.live. In practice, since almost nothing is stored, handling a deletion request usually amounts to ending your session and removing active rooms.
You can also revoke the application's access directly in your Discord account settings, at any time.
8. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Room passwords are stored as hashes, and the media server only admits those presenting a token signed by us.
No service is immune to failure. Should an incident affect your data, we will communicate through the available channels.
9. Children
The service is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware of data collected from someone in that age range, we will delete it.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may change as the service evolves. The last-updated date at the top indicates the version in force.
